Introduction and protective measures A signifcant change for BS 7671: 2008 is the introduction of new terminology . The previously very familiar terms ‘direct contact’ and ‘indirect contact’ are replaced by the terms ‘basic protection’ and ‘fault protection’ respectively; these terms in themselves introduce no technical changes. The ‘basic protection’ protective measure is achieved by selecting equipment complying with relevant product standards. |
